This situation mirrors that of many veteran players in Major League Soccer (MLS), who ofen seek new opportunities to extend their careers after their contracts expire with their original teams.

Marcus Coco is also departing Nantes. Since arriving in 2019, the winger struggled to secure a consistent starting role, though he contributed to their Coupe de France victory. This season, he made 20 Ligue 1 appearances, primarily as a substitute. Meanwhile, FC Nantes has reportedly reached an agreement with Dunkirk to appoint Luis Castro as their new coach, according to reports. The 45-year-old Portuguese manager has reportedly signed a two-year contract and will bring his own staff. The club is also hoping to secure another loan deal for Nicolas Cozza, the left-back currently on loan from Wolfsburg, where he is under contract until 2027.
