Ciudad Real Basketball Campus: 200 Players Registered!

The summer sports program of the City of Ciudad Real continues to advance and this weekend two new campuses, the handball and basketball, have begun. The Councilor for Sports, Pau Beltrán, has been in charge of opening the latter at the facilities of the Rey Juan Carlos sports center, a campus that coordinates the Basket Cervantes Ciudad Real since 2019 and edition after edition continues to increase its registration number.

This is highlighted by the Coordinator of Lower Categories of the Club, Javier Barba, who recalls that “the first year we had 90 students and now we are in 200”, and the reason for this is that “like, there is a good group of coaches, and Carlos who really is the one who directs the campus technically has it very prepared. I believe that the evolution has been because the kids have a good time.”

The campus, in addition, combines the entire quarry of Ciudad Real, with coaches and players of all clubs, “what the campus does is that all the boys and girls that during the winter are the same are rivals, but now they will train together, they will become friends and then they will be enemies again, the normal in these cases.”

The main objective is to have fun, from there, work to strengthen technical foundations in the elderly groups, and in the case of the little ones, initiation exercises to this sports discipline. “In seven days, what we have to get is that they are excited about basketball and continue, that is our goal,” concludes Javi Barba.

The campus begins at 9 in the morning with the first training sessions, starting at 12, coinciding with the hottest hours, the participants go to the pool until the time of the food. Some stay to eat and others are collected by their families that take them back at 4 pm to continue with the activity.
