The Kansas City Chiefs have been thinking about moving from Missouri to Kansas for a long time. On Thursday, those responsible demonstrated how serious the NFL team is.
In a letter to the Senate President of Kansas, Ty Masterson, requested ChiefsPresident Mark Donovan an extension of the deadline for the creation of the stadium financing package. A copy of it is the “Associated Press”. In the letter there is talk of “considerable progress”. However, even more time is needed for the further elaboration.
And Masterson is apparently willing to give the chiefs this additional scope. In a statement, he said: “The letter from Mark Donovan shows that the efforts to bring this historical project to Kansas. Since we are now in the Red Zone, this extension gives the participants enough time to ensure that the ball crosses the goal line.”
However, the extension of the deadline will be decided on July 7th at the earliest when the Kansa’s legislative Coordinating Council meets and discusses the topic.

In the meantime, Donovan tried to make the project as tasty as possible to Masterson.
“Together we have the opportunity to bring the National Football League to Kansas, anchored through a world-class station with a covered Halle, a new team quarters, a state-of-the-art training facility and a lively multi-purpose and entertainment district,” the 59-year-old emphasized in his letter and left no doubt that the Chiefs in Missouri in 2031 after the current lease could actually leave.
Donovan continued to boast: “We are enthusiastic about the potential of this project, which would represent the largest business initiative in the history of the state. It is also important that the presence of an NFL franchise in Kansas will be a strong engine for immediate and long -term growth – it will generate national attention, continuing tourism and further billion for private development projects in the entire state.
