Château-Thébaud. Seniors discover archery

A group of nine adults responded to the proposal of the Loire-Atlantique department to discover different sports which can provide, at any age, a certain well-being. They are supervised by a departmental sports educator, Pierre Riam, and Lola Marche, an animator of the Pont-Caffino leisure center.

Five activities are currently tested on Fridays, such as orienteering, archery, climbing, Nordic walking and canoeing. Each sport is done at their own pace and can be adapted according to the participants, since they are sessions for people aged 60-70 and over.

Some let them know that they are looking forward to the next sport, the following Friday, which will be devoted to climbing. An hour and a half of activity surrounded by nature seems to suit this group, where a Franche camaraderie understanding has settled.

If these free tests, for the moment, are successful, sessions will be planned regularly, from September to June 2026.
