Chandler Jones, former player and Montreal Alouettes coach, died at the age of 33.
The larks confirmed the death of Jones in a statement on Monday. The cause of the death was not specified, but the press release specifies that Jones died accidentally on Sunday morning.
“Our thoughts accompany the family and loved ones from Chandler while they are going through this incredibly difficult period,” said the director general of the Alouettes, Danny Maciocia, in a press release. We offer them our most sincere condolences and offer them all our support. ”
Jones was the deputy coach of the defensive Demis of the Alouettes in 2023 and 2024, helping the team to win the Gray Cup from its first year.
He was also coach at his Alma Mater, the San Jose State University from 2017 to 2019.
As a player, Jones was part of the Alouettes training team in 2015.
He also played in the NFL with the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay and the Browns of Cleveland.
