The National Hockey League (NHL) club in the Vancouver Canucks will look at shift offers this summer about Latvian hockey players Arthur Shilov and The Athletic reports.
It has already been reported that Shilov and the Canucks farm club on Tuesday on Tuesday in the American Hockey League (AHL) became the Calder Cup champion, and was recognized as the most valuable player in the elimination tournament (MVP). In the 24 play-offs, Shilov fouled out 93.1% of shots and averaged 2.01 pucks, defeating his goal in five matches.
Nevertheless, Shilov’s future in his “basic” workplace is endangered. According to The Athletic, the Vancouver Club is close to extending the contract with the main goalkeeper Thatcher Demko, which is also the main reason why Shilov’s name is again in speculation with replacement.
Such a decision by the Canucks is self -evident, as it has to be recalled that Vancouver has not only Shilov and Demko, but also Finn Kevin Lankinen, who showed excellent performance last season and earned an extension of the contract in February.
The usual practice during the NHL season is to keep two goalkeepers, the third most often sending to the AHL farm club, which this season also happened in Shilov. But next season, Vancouver will no longer be able to afford to do so freely – given the NHL rules, if Shilov is sent to the farm club, he will have to go through a so -called refusal list (“Wavers”) from which his contract will be taken over by any NHL team. The Athletic recalls that this is why the Canucks would like to find a new home for Shilov.
Blauger, on the other hand, has been rumored to be rumored, as the Canucks may plan to free up space on the budget ceiling. From the Canucks hockey players who have a valid contract, the uncertainty is not only about Shilov and Blugger, but also attacker Dakota Joshua.
Last season, Blauger became one of only two Canucks hockey players who participated in all 82 matches. Blugger scored 26 (8+18) points, averaging 14 minutes and 19 seconds on the field, but his efficiency was -7.
Both Shilov and Blugger have a contract with the Canucks up to 2025/2026. the end of the season. Shilov will make $ 850,000 next season and Blauger 1.8 million.
