The Norwegian handball star tells about the disease at Instagram.
– It was a total shock, says Herrem.
Herrem says she felt a lump in her chest 3.5 weeks ago. Then she did investigations and the results of them came last Friday.
– They told me it was breast cancer. And it was a total shock, says Herrem.
She also says she is still shocked.
– I don’t feel like this really happens yet.
Starts with cell toxins
Treatment is already starting.
– I talked to the oncologist yesterday. He told us a little about what will happen next and tomorrow I start with the first chemotherapy treatment, says Herrem.
She is supported by many handball colleagues. Swedish ex-star Isabelle Gulldén lost her sister in cancer last year and has commented on Herrem’s post on Instagram.
“Don’t even know what to write. Sends lots of love and strength to you! Is a hell you are going through but you should fuck it”writes Gulldén.
Double Olympic gold
Herm has many heavy qualifications and is a legend in Norwegian handball history. Among other things, she has won two Olympic golds, three World Cup golds and six European gold with the Norwegian national team.
After the European Championship gold in December last year, she finished in the national team. At the same time, the club team career has moved on in Sola HK.
