The Cesis Olympic Center Ski -Biathlon Complex has a traditional competition “Cesis Award in Biathlon Shooting Exercises”, organized by the SBK “Cēsis” in cooperation with the county municipality and SIA “Cēsu Olimpiskais centrs”.

For biathlonists, this is an opportunity to show skills in three different shooting exercises. In the first exercise, biathlonists compete in scoring goals, winning the highest score.
In the second exercise, shooting by biathlon targets from lying down. 10 cartridges for each athlete – five covered, five separately; The task is to shoot all five targets with as little patrons as possible. The remaining cartridge participant uses the point of point.

The third exercise “First shot” is the most active. After the start signal, the participant goes to the fire -border, lying down a rifle, firing one shot, draining a gun, covering the cover on the mat, going back to the starting point with a rifle in hand, then returning to the border, slipping, loading a gun, making one shot. Everything is “in the circle” until the fifth shot is done, then the participant finishes. The result consists of both the number of hits and the distance.

The race is already ending with the shooting of the duel where the coaches start.

The adult biathlonists did not participate in the race, and they started preparing for the Olympic season a long time ago. In total, more than 60 athletes from Daugavpils, Madona, Ogre, Cesis and Estonia started.

This event is characterized by the guys and girls in the same age group competing in a common class, as the race is without load. And as it turned out, biathlonists, boys, boys, were won in all four age groups, leaving men in further places. Students of the Cesis City Sports School climbed twice on the highest step, and twice – Estonian athletes.

Elizabeth Slotina, who was the best in two exercises, won the SV22 group, but took 2nd place in one.

In the SV19 group, the whole podium for Estonian biathlonists, the best of the CPSS was Laura Alzina, who was 5th, but was half point behind Amelia Zaķe, who was 6th.

In the SV17 group, the bronze medal was won by Estere Pixon, a spokeswoman for the ASM sports cube.

Annija Brokane, who was one of three biathlonists, won the SV15 group, who shot all five goals among all participants in the third exercise. None of the guys failed.

Second in this age group Gustav Berzins, 4th Klāvs Gavars, 5th Jānis Lingarts, 6th Elza Krastiņa.

After the athlete competition, there were competitions for coaches. For the second year in a row, Madona BJSS Biathlon coach Rolands Pužulis remained unbeaten, demonstrating excellent accuracy, leaving Ogre club coach Jacob’s Time in second place, third place Andis Apse (Ogres BK). The coaches of the Cesis Sports School did not start this time.

During the first weekend of July, the Latvian Cup will take place in the general physical fitness exercises, but the 1st stage of the Latvian Championship in the summer biathlon is scheduled for July 26-27.
