The Balmanian archers chain the performances, aimed higher for next season.
The 3rd round of group 3 of second division in a classic arc has just held under a crushing sun on the installations of the Nicolas-Campailla sports complex. Organized by the Balma Arc Club (BAC), this national round brought together the archers of eight female teams, and as many male, from the southern region, as well as some local individuals. “We can congratulate ourselves on the participation of young Balmans and Balmans who won some podiums. They were able to rub shoulders with archers of very good levels,” said Vincent Denhez, president of the bac.
Regarding the D2, after its individual and team shots, the baccalaureate team succeeds in keeping its place in the elite by ranking 6th in group 3. “This place is synonymous with maintenance in D2. We will therefore find the club’s female team in the second division for the 2026 sports season”, adds the president.
At the same time, in Rodez, for the Regional Division Excellence 2025, the male team of the classic arch in the classic arc has become an Occitanie regional champion in its category. This first place allows the club to compete in the national final which will take place in Brienon-sur-Armançon (Yonne), Saturday July 5, to try to access the second division and join the women’s team.
The news of archery was rich this week, since six Balmanais archers participated in the first stage of the Run Archery Tour 2025 in Old Condé in the North. On this occasion, the Bac duo team, made up of Florian Caqueret and Simon Thoreau, went on the second step of the podium. “It is a very good performance, which allows the club to hope to get on first place in the podium during the national final which will take place on September 27 and 28 in Balma,” says Vincent Denhez. Cousin discipline of biathlon, the Run Archery mixes running and archery on a 1 km course, at the end of which participants are invited to draw four arrows on as many targets.
These results have a good omen for the next season of the bac. A season that promises to be splendid for archers, which will soon join the multipurpose room on Avenue des Arènes. At the end of its reconstruction, the floor of this building will indeed include a room of 348 m2 entirely dedicated to archery. Good news for the club, which will no longer have to share the installations of the Jean-Rostand gymnasium with other sports associations.
