Badminton Figeacois: Successful Season Review

Thursday, June 19, at the Calvary Stadium clubhouse, the Badminton Figeac club held its general assembly, the opportunity to take stock of the past year and discuss the highlights of the coming season.

Club leaders wanted to reward young people first for their learning journey during the year. In the presence of their parents, and Nathalie Faure, sports assistant, the latter were given their diplomas from white, yellow, or green feathers. They validate the player’s progression stages. In his moral report, Michel Fourgous Jimenez, co -president, returned to the accession of a club team to the regional championship 2 Occitanie.

The members of the office returned to the activities of the past year with an increase in the number of licensees, from 124 to 137, or 55 young people and 82 adults. In terms of competitions, young people and adults represented the CBF on more than 40 tournaments at departmental and regional level, with many victories and finalist places. With interclubs in interclubs, three teams committed, one in regional 2 and two in D1 and D2 departmental.

The club has the French school label of badminton (2 stars) since 2019-2020. Matthieu Gardou, co -president, obtained his diploma as a volunteer coach. A return was then made on the 13th spring tournament, as well as on several events, evening of the Ois trophies, R2 interclub day, intraclub, relay for life, work at COSEC, and end of the season.

As every three years, the members of the board of directors are renewed. The latter elect a new office: Michel Fourgous-Jimenez /Matthieu Gardou (co-presidents), Cédric Meilhan (treasurer), Gabriel Latournerie (assistant treasurer), and Lisa Boissy (secretary). Everything is now ready for next season which will resume on Monday September 8.
