Alaphilippe: French Cycling Championships Update

Several French runners, especially those who run for foreign teams, ignore the French road cycling championships, this Sunday at the Herbiers, in Vendée, to better prepare the Tour de France which starts on July 3 from Lille.

This is particularly the case of Alaphilippe (Tudor) and Martinez (Bahrain) but also of Pavel Sivakov (UAE), Clément Champoussin (Astana) or Valentin Paret-Peintre (Sudal Quick-Step).

Benoît Cosnefroy was forfeit injury after falling on the Tour of Switzerland last week. The Norman suffers from a bruise in the knee and must also give up the Tour, announced his team Decathlon-AG2R this Wednesday.

As for the two French runners from Visma, Axel Zingle and Christophe Laporte, they are always convalescent.

The women’s online race, this Saturday, will be deprived of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, the Paris-Roubaix winner in April, which favors preparation for the Tour de France women which will take place from July 26 to August 3.
