Jakov Mediç will continue his career at Norwich City, Ajax announced on Wednesday afternoon through the official channels. The center defender had a contract at the club from Amsterdam until mid -2028, so that the English club has to pay a lump sum payment.
“There was no perspective for Jakov at Ajax, so it was better for both parties to look further. At Norwich City, a nice challenge is waiting for him in the Championship, we have been very successful in the continuation of his career,” explains Alex Kroes on the Ajax website.
Medic, who was rented by Ajax to Vfl Bochum last season, played only nine official matches for Ajax in total and he managed to score once. The 28-year-old Medicine also played for Sankt Pauli in the past and in 2023 he then made the switch to Ajax. According to Transfermarkt, he has a market value of 2 million euros, which means that the cash register rings again in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
