Saronno Softball Inox, a prominent team in the Italian serie A1, is making waves with the acquisition of two highly touted american athletes: pitcher Taylor Caudill and catcher Neely peterson. Both players arrive fresh off successful winter seasons in Australia, adding important depth and talent to the Saronno squad.
Taylor Caudill, a dominant force on the mound, brings a wealth of experience and accolades to Italy. Her recent triumph in South australia with the Walkerville Softball Club, capped by a 10-strikeout performance in the championship final, underscores her ability to perform under pressure. She was also named athlete of the year 2025. Taylor’s arm is electric. She’s got the kind of stuff that can shut down any lineup,
says one scout familiar with her play.
Caudill’s collegiate career in the United States is equally impressive.as a Boise State Bronco, she shattered records, amassing an astounding 551 strikeouts – a university record that still stands. In 2024, she earned national recognition as the Wilson/NFCA National Pitcher of the Week and Ford Boise State Athlete of the Week, solidifying her status as one of the nation’s top pitchers. This kind of performance is reminiscent of Jennie Finch’s early dominance, suggesting Caudill has the potential to become a household name.
Neely Peterson, a catcher known for her defensive prowess and offensive firepower, joins Saronno after a decorated career in the American collegiate system. Her national title win with the South Australian starz Softball Team further demonstrates her winning pedigree.
Peterson’s journey thru the american college ranks took her from Cypress Creek high School to NJCAA, than to Colorado State University, Santa Fe College, and ultimately, florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). At FGCU,she played a pivotal role in securing the program’s fifth Atlantic Sun Conference title in NCAA Division I. Her clutch, walk-off hit sealed the victory, earning her Regional all-American honors and All-Conference recognition as a power hitter. Neely brings a rare combination of defensive skill and offensive pop. She’s a game-changer behind the plate,
notes a former coach.
Peterson’s ability to control the game from behind the plate, coupled with her knack for delivering in crucial moments, makes her a valuable asset to Saronno. Her experience in the NCAA Division I, known for its intense competition and high level of play, has prepared her for the challenges of Serie A1.
The arrival of Caudill and Peterson at Malpensa airport was met with enthusiasm by team captain Alessandra Rotondo and director Riccardo Franzosini, signaling the team’s commitment to competing at the highest level. Can Peterson’s power hitting and defensive skills elevate Saronno to championship contention?
