Stade Français, the Ile-de-france rugby club, swiftly reacted to the season-ending ankle injury of New Zealand scrum-half Brad Weber. The club, avoiding a prolonged absence at the crucial halfback position, announced the loan signing of Paul Abadie.

His career has taken him from Agen in Pro D2 to the elite Top 14 with stints at Brive and, most recently, Union bordeaux-Bègles (UBB). He has accumulated over 150 appearances in the French championship, including a significant number in the Top 14.
