Rome, Italy – Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca today unveiled a significant fiscal turnaround, highlighting a renewed focus on healthcare and tax reform. His two-year tenure has yielded notable results, marked by ample improvements in service delivery and budget management.
A Tax Reform Catalyst
Rocca announced the imminent dispatch of an official letter to the Ministries of economy and Health.This letter seeks to reinstate tax automatisms, a crucial step toward substantial tax reductions for lower-income earners, effective 2027.This initiative promises to be a game-changer for the region’s financial landscape.
Healthcare: A Priority
The region’s healthcare sector has experienced a dramatic change. Average waiting times have plummeted from 31 days in 2023 to a mere 9 days in 2025, a remarkable 70% reduction.Together, the number of services provided surged by over 70,000, rising from 280,623 in January 2023 to 356,201 in January 2025.
Budgetary Prudence
Rocca’s administration has meticulously scrutinized the regional budget, rectifying ideological inconsistencies inherited from previous administrations. This meticulous review has resulted in a substantial reduction in the projected deficit. The initial projection of a deficit exceeding €700 million in 2023 has been significantly lowered, with a reduction of approximately €500 million.
