Tlaxcala Hosts Crucial National Archery Selective
Tlaxcala, Mexico, will serve as the epicenter for the Third National Selective Arch competition, a pivotal event scheduled from February 26th to March 1st. This selection process will determine the archers who will represent Mexico in the World Cup Series, aiming to hoist the Mexican flag high in the international arena.
A Sports Hub in Tlaxcala
This selective solidifies Tlaxcala’s position as a premier sports destination in Mexico. The competition will attract top professional talent, featuring both male and female archers in the recurve and compound arc disciplines. Thirty-two archers, whittled down from a larger pool, will vie for coveted spots on the national team. the rigorous selection process has narrowed the field to eight archers per gender and discipline.
Elite Athletes Prepare for International Stage
A constellation of outstanding athletes will grace the competition, including Olympic medalists Alejandra Valencia and Ángela Ruiz, who shone at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Matías Grande, the current Pan-American champion, and Maya Becerra, a world runner-up, will also be in the mix.These athletes, and others, will battle it out to secure their place on the Mexican team, ready to compete in international competitions.
State-of-the-Art facilities
The competition will unfold within the modern facilities of the Archery venue located at the Blas Sports Unit “Charro carvajal” in Tlaxcala City. This selective is part of a four-stage series designed to propel the best archers toward the World Cups and the Olympics.

Tlaxcala’s hosting of this selective builds on its growing reputation as a global archery destination. In October 2022, the city hosted the World Cup Final for Arch, bringing together the world’s top 32 archers. October 2024 will see Tlaxcala host another World Cup event,further cementing its role as a crucial stage for the global archery community.
