Parma Baseball Signs Switch-Hitting Powerhouse Geraldo for 2025 Season
Parma Baseball has bolstered its lineup for the 2025 season, securing the services of switch-hitting outfielder Manuel Geraldo. The acquisition marks a significant addition to the team’s roster, filling a crucial void left by the departure of Luis Gonzalez.
A Proven Performer in the Nicaraguan League
Geraldo,born September 23,1996,in Azua,Dominican Republic,brings a wealth of experience to Parma. He spent seven seasons in the minor leagues wiht the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals,reaching Double-A. His extraordinary minor league career included 596 games, a .268 batting average, 23 home runs, and 127 walks.
He also honed his skills in independent leagues (Gastonia, Lexington, New Jersey, Long Island) and winter leagues in Colombia and Nicaragua.
His most recent stint with the Boer’s Indians in the Nicaraguan League saw him play 36 games, hitting .295 with 6 home runs in 78 at-bats.

“We chose Geraldo from a relatively small pool of candidates,” Saccardi confirmed. “Alberto Mineo’s report on Geraldo’s performance in the Nicaraguan League played a significant role in our decision. The Indians consistently placed him in the fourth or fifth spot in their lineup to maximize his strengths.”
