National Intercollegiate Games Open Registration

Registration ‍for the National Intercollegiate Games, a Ministry of⁣ Sports program designed for students aged 7-17, is now open from March 1st to April 30th. This initiative aims to foster athletic participation across⁤ Colombia.

A Nationwide Sporting Extravaganza

Schools and organizations ⁤serving⁣ students with disabilities across all 32 departments can register their athletes ‍at www.juegosintercolegiados.gov.co. This expansive program⁣ promises to engage a considerable number of young‍ athletes.

A ⁣Diverse⁤ Array ‍of Sports

The games encompass a wide range of sports, catering to diverse interests. This year’s program features 33 sports modalities,including:

  • Individual sports: underwater activities,chess,athletics,badminton,boxing,cycling,fencing,gymnastics,judo,karate,weightlifting,fighting,swimming,skating,taekwondo,tejo,field tennis,table tennis,and triathlon.
  • Team sports: basketball, ‍3×3 basketball, handball, baseball, soccer, salon ‍football, futsal, mini basketball, mini ⁢room, mini volleyball, porrismo, rugby, softball, ⁢and volleyball.

Impact and investment

The program aims to positively affect 578,000 school athletes across 9,600 educational institutions in over 1,120 municipalities. ‍ This ambitious undertaking represents a significant investment of 50 billion pesos.

This investment will ensure Colombia’s readiness for the ⁢VII Central American ⁢School Games in⁤ Cartagena and the⁤ XXIX South American School Games in Brasilia.
