Classic Arc: Meteoric Rise
In the Classic Arc competition, the men’s favorites, Mete Gazoz and Thomas Chileault, lived up to expectations, each achieving a remarkable 592 points to claim first place in the qualifying round. This stellar performance earned them a direct path to the eighth-final stage, scheduled for Thursday at 8 a.m. French time.Meanwhile, Sebastian Victory, the women’s representative, secured a strong second-place finish with 586 points, guaranteeing her a spot in the round of 16.
Lisa Barbelin,however,faces a tougher challenge. She will need to overcome Icelandic archer Marin Anita Hilmarsdottir (21) in the 16th-final round to join her French compatriots. Barbelin finished ninth in the qualifying round and will compete in the 16th final at 7:15 a.m. French time on Thursday.
Pullecnear: Girard Takes the lead
Nicolas Girard made a powerful impact in the Pullecnear competition, shooting a remarkable 599 points to top the qualifying rankings.His performance placed him ahead of Slovak Jozef bosansky (9th) and Danish Mathias Fullerton (2nd). This impressive score secured Girard’s direct qualification for the eighth-final round, scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m.
U21s: French Women Shine
The French women’s U21 team delivered a resounding performance, with all three archers making meaningful strides. Léa Girault secured second place with 583 points,followed closely by chloé Leroy (3rd,580 points) and Romane Sablin (5th,578 points). This trio directly advanced to the eighth-final round. Their combined team score of 1741 points placed them in second place in the rankings, just behind Turkey (1744 points).
