Galatasaray Bolsters Roster wiht Experienced Guard tyrone Wallace
Tyrone Wallace, a seasoned guard with NBA experience, is set to join Galatasaray Istanbul, according to EuroHoops. This move marks a return to the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) for Wallace, who previously played for Türk Telekom last season.
Wallace, who can play both point guard and shooting guard, recently parted ways with Zalgiris Kaunas after a brief stint. In five Lithuanian League (LKL) games with Zalgiris, he averaged an remarkable 12.7 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. His departure from Kaunas in October was due to personal reasons, leaving him without a team until this agreement with Galatasaray.
The American brings a wealth of experience to the Turkish club, having played 114 games in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, and New Orleans Pelicans. His versatility and offensive prowess will be valuable assets for Galatasaray, who are currently competing in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) play-In stage.
While Wallace’s signing hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s unlikely he’ll be available for Galatasaray’s crucial BCL play-In return match against Saint-Quentin this Wednesday. In the first leg, Galatasaray dominated the french side 84-63 at home.
With Wallace’s addition, Galatasaray, coached by Yakup Sekizkök, aims to solidify their lead and advance to the next round of the BCL. The team is currently enjoying a strong run in the BSL, sitting in fourth place with a 10-4 record, despite a recent loss to rivals Anadolu Efes.
Wallace’s journey has seen him showcase his talent in various leagues. During his time with Paris Basketball in the 2022-2023 season,he displayed flashes of brilliance but struggled with consistency. his experience in the highly competitive EuroLeague with Zalgiris Kaunas has undoubtedly prepared him for the challenges of the BSL.Joining Galatasaray presents Wallace with an opportunity to shine on the European stage and contribute to the team’s continued success. His arrival is expected to bolster the Lions’ offensive firepower and solidify their position as a contender in both domestic and continental competitions.

Ersin: Wallace is a versatile guard who can play both point guard and shooting guard. This versatility will be valuable for Galatasaray, especially given their current roster construction. Coach Sekizkök likes to run a fast-paced offense with a lot of ball movement, and Wallace’s ability to both create for himself and others shoudl make him a perfect fit.
