Leading the charge was smilla Pesch, who dominated her initial bout with a powerful display. While she narrowly lost to the eventual champion in a closely contested match decided by judges, her performance earned her a commendable second-place finish.
Yannik schmitt proved to be a force to be reckoned with,securing victory in both of his weight class matches with decisive wins.His impressive technique and unwavering determination resulted in a well-deserved frist-place finish.
Susanna Pesch delivered a dominant performance, racking up three consecutive victories in her weight class. Her skillful throws and relentless ground game left her opponents struggling to keep up, ultimately leading her to claim the top spot on the podium.
Raphael Pesch, competing in only his second tournament, entered the competition with a surge of enthusiasm. He stunned spectators with a swift victory in his first match, executing a masterful throw. Building on this momentum, he secured another win with a hold, mirroring his sister’s success and earning him a first-place finish.
Making his competitive debut, Maxim Berz faced a seasoned opponent in his opening match, resulting in a loss. however, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, bouncing back to win his second bout with a decisive hold. This determined performance secured him a well-earned second place in his weight class.

Moderator: Coach Schmidt, congratulations on your team’s performance at the Karlsruhe competition. Five athletes placing in the top two of their respective weight classes is truly commendable. What were your initial thoughts when reflecting on their performance?
Coach Schmidt: thank you! I’m incredibly proud of each of them. They’ve all worked tirelessly,dedicating endless hours to training and honing their skills.
Seeing them perform so well on the mat, showcasing the techniques we’ve been working on, is truly rewarding for any coach.
Moderator: Smilla Pesch came incredibly close to taking first place, ultimately securing a well-deserved second. what are your thoughts on her performance, and what areas do you see for potential growth moving forward?
Coach Schmidt: Smilla is a force to be reckoned with. Her initial bout was truly dominant, showcasing her strength and determination. The final match against the eventual champion was incredibly close – a decision that could have easily swayed either way.
We’ll definitely analyze that match, identifying areas where she can refine her tactics against opponents of that caliber. But I’m incredibly proud of her performance.
Moderator: Rapheal Pesch is relatively new to the competitive scene.His first-place finish is an impressive debut, especially with that swift victory thru a masterful throw in his first match. What does this win say about his potential as a judoka?
Coach Schmidt: Rapheal is a natural talent. He possesses an unbelievable natural ability and a keen willingness to learn. despite this being onyl his second competition, he approached it with remarkable focus and composure.
This win is a testament to his dedication and a glimpse into the bright future ahead. We’ll continue to nurture his potential and guide him to reach his full potential.
