The Celtics initially controlled the game, leading 65-55 at halftime thanks to a strong performance from Jaylen Brown, who scored all 21 of his points before the break. The size advantage of Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet also proved effective for Boston. Though, the Thunder’s defense tightened substantially after halftime, limiting the Celtics to a mere 27 points in the second half.
Despite missing Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso, the Thunder showcased their resilience and depth. Just days earlier, they set a franchise record with their 13th consecutive win against the Los Angeles Clippers, followed by a hard-fought victory against the New York Knicks, who were riding a nine-game winning streak.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Canadian star, led the Thunder’s charge with a stellar performance of 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists.
