UEFA has selected the referee for the high-stakes clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, and the decision is unlikely to please the French giants.
This Wednesday’s showdown between PSG and Manchester City is set to captivate football fans across Europe, as both financial powerhouses face immense pressure in the Champions League, particularly PSG. To oversee this critical encounter, UEFA has appointed Szymon Marciniak, the renowned Polish referee whose past decisions have left a bitter taste for French and Parisian supporters. Marciniak famously officiated the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina, but more recently, he was in charge during PSG’s heartbreaking Champions League loss at the Parc des Princes, where a last-second counterattack by Atlético de Madrid sealed their fate.
