But when you consider that Glens Falls dominated us just a month ago,and we’ve since narrowed the gap against them,it’s clear we’re moving in the right direction.”
Kristel credits the leadership of seniors Logan Layton, austin Stark, and Dan Fiori for the team’s growth.
“These seniors embody the qualities of a strong locker room presence – positivity, knowledge, and unwavering effort,” Kristel praised.
The Rams’ trademark style – aggressive defense fueling fast breaks and scoring bursts – was on full display against Scotia-Glenville. After an initial 6-2 deficit, Amsterdam unleashed a 13-0 run, establishing a commanding 22-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.

“Many of our athletes participate in multiple sports,” Kristel explained. “With limited year-round basketball involvement, they frequently enough focus solely on the season. Ideally,we’d see more commitment during the off-season to further enhance their skills.”
Despite the challenges, Kristel remains optimistic about the future. He believes the Rams’ young core, coupled with the positive example set by this year’s varsity squad, will pave the way for continued success.
