„Jeho šanca dostať sa na majstrovstvá je aj tak stále nulová,ale tento chalan dokáže vytvoriť riadny chaos. Presne to zakaždým prinesie,“ doplnil Sundby.
Northug vie,že jeden výsledok je príliš málo na to,aby presvedčil reprezentačného trénera.
„Ak by mal gule, poslal by ma aspoň na Svetový pohár do Les Rousses (17. – 19. januára). Urobil by to. Určite sa s ním o tom porozprávam,“ tvrdil Northug.
Reprezentačný tréner Eirik Myhr Nossum je zatiaľ rezervovaný. „V budúcnosti by som ho rád zaradil do zostavy a mnohých ďalších, ale konkurencia je veľká a miesteniek málo,“ reagoval pre NRK Nossum.
„Aj keby som mal teraz obsadiť voľné miesta, tak by sa na Northuga nedostalo. Ale myslím, že ukázal dnes veľmi dobrý výkon,“ doplnil.
Vo svojej disciplíne vyhorel
vo štvrtok však v individuálnom šprinte nepostúpil do štvrťfinále, keď dosiahol v úvodnom kole 43. miesto.
„To sa nemalo vysielať. Bolo to hnusné,“ reagoval Northug. Následne zahrešil.
