Petit-Caux Judo Masters Gear Up for French Championships
The Judo Club of Petit-Caux is renowned for nurturing young talent, but thier seasoned judokas are also making waves in the competitive arena. Two masters, Coralie Grandsire and Magarik Arutunian, are currently in intense training, preparing for the upcoming French Championships.
Grandsire, the reigning French vice-champion in the -57 kg category, is laser-focused on achieving top honors at the national level. To sharpen her skills, she has been participating in a series of challenging tournaments, recently securing three impressive second-place finishes.
At the Excellence tournament in Tremblay-en-France, Grandsire narrowly missed the gold medal, demonstrating her competitive spirit and proximity to victory. Similar near-wins occurred at the Label A national tournament in Nantes and the Excellence tournament in Angers, solidifying her position as a formidable contender.
Arutunian, meanwhile, faced stiff competition at the Excellence tournament in Tremblay-en-France, ultimately losing to the reigning world champion in a closely contested match. He also reached the semi-finals at the Label A tournament in Nantes before being defeated, ultimately securing a commendable third-place finish.
Both Grandsire and Arutunian will further hone their skills at an international tournament near Lille, which will feature judokas from 26 countries. This high-level competition will provide invaluable experience and prepare them for the rigors of the French Championships.
Under the expert guidance of coaches Manon Gouel and Valérie Charuel, these dedicated athletes are poised to represent Petit-Caux with distinction on the national stage.
