Sophie:
Thank you for having me.
It’s truly inspiring to see the Appamée archers hitting the mark so early in the season. miroslav,Lucas, and Patrick sweeping the top three spots in the senior category is a testament to the club’s rigorous training and strong team spirit.
You’ve coached numerous archers to success, including Olympians. What do you make of Ambre and Séverine’s victory at the Fronton tournament?
Sophie:
Ambre and Séverine are two rising stars to watch. Their win in Fronton showcases the depth of talent emerging from the Ariège sub-prefecture. Winning at this level early in the season bodes well for their performance in future national competitions.
The Appamée archers have a packed schedule ahead, with crucial events like the Blagnac selection tournament and the World Cup stage in Nîmes. how do you think this intense training and competition schedule will impact their advancement?
Sophie:
A rigorous schedule is crucial for young athletes. It pushes them out of their comfort zones, teaches them to handle pressure, and hones their skills. The Blagnac tournament, particularly, is a springboard for national recognition, allowing archers to demonstrate their potential for higher-level competitions. Additionally, competing against world-class archers in Nîmes will be an incredible learning experience for Valentin and Marine.
Moving beyond the able-bodied archers, Appamée is also making strides in adaptive sports. Their participation in the Castres competition and the upcoming league championship and French Championship demonstrate the club’s commitment to inclusivity. What are your thoughts on the growth and importance of adaptive archery?
Sophie:
The expansion and inclusivity of archery are something I’m truly passionate about. Adaptive archery allows athletes with disabilities to experience the joys and challenges of the sport, showcasing their talents and inspiring others. It’s heartwarming to see clubs like Appamée embrace this, promoting accessibility and demonstrating that archery is for everyone.
