Nacional continued its historic run in teh Uruguayan basketball League, securing a decisive 88-67 victory over Malvín in the 13th round. This win marks their 13th consecutive victory, shattering the previous record for the best start to a season in the league’s history. Previously held by Hebraica and Maccabi (2011/12) and Malvín (2012/13), both of whom were eventually stopped by Unión Athletic, Nacional’s dominance is undeniable.
From the opening tip-off, Nacional established control, leading 20-12 at the end of the first quarter. Despite the absence of star player Néstor Colmenares due to injury, the tricolors maintained their lead throughout the game.By halftime, they had extended their advantage to 46-31, and a commanding 29-point lead in the third quarter effectively sealed the victory.
Connor Zinaich,stepping in for the injured Chilean Manny Suárez,led Nacional’s scoring with an impressive 21 points.
