Celebrating Three Decades of Judo Excellence in Heubach
The Judo Center Heubach (JZH) marked another accomplished year in 2024, solidifying its position as a leading judo club in Baden-Württemberg and Germany. The club’s achievements were celebrated during a special awards ceremony held at the town hall, recognizing the dedication of athletes, volunteers, and the community.
The evening commenced with a vibrant performance by the “D-Lights Böbingen” dance group from the local TSV, setting a festive tone for the event. Sven Albrecht, chairman of the JZH circle of friends, welcomed the guests, highlighting the important sporting accomplishments of the year. He emphasized that these successes wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of dedicated volunteers.
Peter Graf, the club’s chairman, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the importance of volunteerism in the JZH’s journey. He noted that the club, which emerged from the TSV 30 years ago, has a rich history dating back to 1964, boasting an impressive 330 titles won over the years.
Mayor Dr. Joy Alemazung expressed his thankfulness for the club’s contributions to the community. Representatives from the Württemberg Sports Youth and the WLSB (Württemberg Judo Association) also extended their congratulations and well wishes. In the U9 and U11 categories, Adam Azizi emerged as a standout performer, securing first place at the district championship, the North Württemberg championship (NWM), and the Württemberg championship (WM).His brother, Jaad Azizi, also excelled, claiming first place and second place at the NWM. Other notable achievements in this age group include Luna Bundschuh’s first-place finish at the World Cup and Hannes Deininger’s impressive performance, securing first place at the regional, NWM, and World Cup levels.
The U13 category witnessed equally impressive performances. Nika Baumhauer showcased her talent by securing first place at the NWM, second place at the WM, and third place at both the WM U15 and BWM U15. Moritz Kroisant dominated the WM, securing first place, while Yuna Lorke demonstrated her versatility, achieving second place at the NWM and WM, and first place at the WM U15 and SdM U15.
The JZH’s success extends beyond individual achievements. The club’s U11 girls’ team, comprising Savina Goundas, Lina Holderle, Marie Weckerle, Freyja Eichhorn, Lara Bakir, Ronja Schneider, Moutaqui Zounayra, Luna Bundschuh, Masal Su Kilic, Nele Buchholz, and Ela Su kilic, secured first place at the NWM and second place at the World Cup. The U11 boys’ team, featuring Hannes Deininger, Toni Ladenburger, David Kroisant, Jaad Azizi, Adam Azizi, Maximilian Grolik, Stepan Khristoforov, Alexander Knoll, and Tim Kolmbach (PSV Aalen), also achieved remarkable success, claiming first place at both the NWM and World Cup.These achievements highlight the JZH’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and nurturing the next generation of judo champions.

Lia Knecht, Vanessa Wagner, and Nora Feifel also delivered outstanding results, achieving podium finishes at both national and international events.The U15 girls’ team, comprised of Knecht, Wagner, Feifel, Yuna Lorke, Nika Baumhauer, Kiara Lorke, Sophia Kölblinger, Laura Yilmaz, and Khristoforova, secured a remarkable second place at the World Cup and third place at the German Championship. The U15 boys’ team, representing KG JZ Heubach/Frisch auf Göppingen, also achieved a second-place finish at the World Cup.

The U18 division continued the club’s winning streak. Valentin Kressierer emerged as a standout performer, claiming first place at the World Championship. Hannah Müller and Mia Yilmaz also delivered exceptional results,achieving podium finishes at both national and international competitions.
The U18 girls’ team,featuring Knecht,Rachel Balthes,Wagner,Feifel,Era Hyseni,nanna Müller,Yilmaz,Köblinger,and elia Yilmaz,secured a fifth-place finish at the German championship. The U18 boys’ team,representing KG JZ Heubach/JT Steinheim,achieved a third-place finish at the South German Championship.

The U21 and senior athletes continue to represent KG JZ Heubach with distinction. Erwin Bernhard secured first place at the German Championship for athletes over 30, while Alina Böhm achieved a third-place finish at the European Championship and consistently placed at Grand Slam events.
The men’s team secured first place in the Württemberg League, while the women’s team achieved a commendable second-place finish.
