Earlier in the year, Niigata Seishin Girls had set their sights on a strong performance at the 54th National Junior High School Basketball tournament (Zenchu). With the goal of reaching the final day, they successfully navigated the preliminaries. However, their journey was cut short in the first round of the final tournament when they faced Shoin Junior High School, who ultimately became runners-up. The final score was 48-55, ending Niigata Seishin Girls’ Zenchu campaign.

Head Coach Sakamoto, recognizing the magnitude of the occasion, rallied his players, stating, “This is the final showdown. You’ll never get another chance to compete on a stage like this. Let’s fight like true contenders!”
The team’s strength lies in the dynamic duo of Wakatsuki and Kaji, with the rest of the squad providing solid support. Coach Sakamoto praised the team’s dedication, highlighting their relentless practice sessions that honed their outside shooting skills.”We pushed our limits and are ready to give it our all,” he affirmed.
