In the kanto/Tokyo region,Nishogakusha University,Yokohama,Kendai Takasaki,Chiba Reimei,and Urawa Minoru have already secured their spots. With only two slots remaining, including the Jingu tournament spot, Minoru Waseda and Tokyo University of Agriculture are the frontrunners.
Waseda Minoru, aiming for back-to-back Koshien appearances, narrowly lost 5-6 to Nishogakusha Otsuke in the tokyo tournament finals last fall. Despite the loss, their strong performance in the final and the overall context of the Kanto tournament make them likely candidates for selection.
Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology finished second in last fall’s Gunma tournament. They started the Kanto tournament with a dominant 10-3 win over Teikyo Daisan, who ranked third in Yamanashi. Although they lost 0-2 to Yokohama in their next match, their competitive performance against the eventual Jingu Champion gives them an edge in the selection process. Having been absent from Koshien since the summer of 2009, their potential return is highly anticipated.

From the Tokai region, Ogaki Nihon university and Tokoha Okikukawa are almost certain to be selected. The final spot is likely to go to either Gifu Daiichi or Shigakukan, both of whom reached the top four in the Tokai Tournament. Shigakukan appears to have the upper hand.
Shigakukan claimed the Aichi tournament title last fall. In the tokai tournament, they began with a 2-0 shutout against Seirei Christopher, followed by a narrow 4-5 loss to Tokoha Okikukawa. Their strong regional performance and competitive spirit make them a likely choice.
On the other hand, Gifu Daiichi, who placed third in the Gifu tournament last fall, defeated Kakegawa Nishi (second in Shizuoka) and Kaisei (first in Mie) in the Tokai tournament. despite their loss to Ogaki Nihon University in the semi-finals, they made a significant impact.
Shigakukan, ranked No. 1 in Aichi, continues to demonstrate their strength and resilience, making them a strong contender for the final slot in the Tokai region.
Kinki District: A Competitive Showcase (6 Slots)
Toyo University Himeji (Hyogo)
As the reigning Kinki tournament champions, Toyo University Himeji stands as a strong contender for the national championship. Their consistent performance makes them a team to watch.
Chiben Wakayama (Wakayama)
Finishing as the Kinki tournament runner-up, Chiben Wakayama dominated the Wakayama prefectural tournament, showcasing their formidable strength.
Tenri (Nara)
A top-four finisher in the Kinki tournament, Tenri also clinched the Nara tournament title. Their track record suggests they’ll be a force at Koshien.
City Wakayama (Wakayama)
Despite placing third in Wakayama, City Wakayama proved their mettle by defeating strong opponents in the regional tournament, earning a top-four spot in Kinki.

Osaka gakuin University High School (Osaka)

from the Kinki region, toyo University Himeji, Chiben Wakayama, Tenri, and City Wakayama have secured their spots. The remaining two slots are likely to be contested between Shiga Junior College, Osaka Gakuin Otaka, Ritsumeikan Uji, and Shiga Gakuen. Our prediction leans toward Shiga Gakuen and Osaka Gakuin Otaka.
shiga Gakuen’s victory in the Shiga tournament last fall, coupled with their 3-2 win against Osaka Toin in the Kinki tournament’s opening round, highlights their potential. Although they fell 2-7 to Chiben Wakayama in the next match, their first-place finish in Shiga remains commendable.
Osaka Gakuin Otaka High School, which secured third place in the Osaka tournament, edged out Kyoto’s Kitaryo 1-0 in their Kinki tournament debut.despite a 4-0 loss to Toyo University Himeji, their performance against the eventual Kinki champions was noteworthy.
Conversely, Ritsumeikan Uji, Kyoto’s top-ranked team, suffered a heavy 0-10 defeat against City Wakayama in the Kinki tournament quarterfinals, likely diminishing their chances of selection.
Simultaneously occurring, Shiga Junior College, ranked second in Shiga, delivered an impressive win against Osaka’s Riseisha in the Kinki tournament’s first round. Yanagigaura (Oita)
Also a top 4 finisher in the Kyushu tournament.They are poised to make a long-awaited return to Koshien after a series of hard-fought matches.
21st Century Frame (2 Slots)
Komatsu Takumi (Ishikawa)
Secured a top 4 spot in the Hokushinetsu tournament. Their involvement in local disaster recovery efforts has further bolstered their reputation.
Iki (Nagasaki)
Advanced to the top 8 in the Kyushu tournament. overcoming the challenges of being based on a remote island, they’ve proven their mettle on the field.
The 21st century frame shortlist includes nine schools: Kushiro Konan (Hokkaido), Kuji (Iwate), Yokohama Seiryo (Kanagawa), Nagoya Tachibana (Aichi), Komatsuko (ishikawa), Yamashiro (Kyoto), Ota (Shimane), Takamatsu Higashi (Kagawa), and Iki (Nagasaki). Given this competitive field,Komatsu Takumi and Iki stand out as strong candidates for selection.
Komatsu Takumi secured second place in the Ishikawa tournament last fall. In the Hokushinetsu tournament, they edged out Northern Toyama 8-7 in their opening match and followed up with a decisive 7-0 victory over Niigata’s top-ranked Akinori Niigata. Although they fell 4-9 to Tsuruga Kehi in the semifinals, their top 4 finish is commendable. Additionally, their participation in recovery efforts following the Noto heavy rain disaster in September 2024 highlights their community spirit. These factors, combined with their tournament performance, make them a strong contender for selection.
Iki, located on Iki Island in Nagasaki Prefecture, finished as runners-up in the Nagasaki tournament last fall.At the Kyushu tournament, they defeated Kumamoto’s top-ranked Sendai Kumamoto 6-3 in their first match. Despite a 9-2 loss to Enagic Sports in the next round, their progress has been remarkable. Historically, schools from remote islands have a high selection rate in the 21st century frame, with past selections including Oki (Shimane) in 2003, Sado (Niigata) in 2011, and shodoshima (Kagawa) in 2016. Given their recent achievements and this past trend, iki’s selection appears highly probable.
