Let’s talk strategy. The 10km freestyle format can be incredibly demanding. How do you approach these races, mentally and physically?
Flora: It’s all about pacing and staying focused. It’s a long race, so you can’t burn yourself out early. I try to find a rhythm and stick to it, conserving energy for a strong finish. Mentally,I stay positive and visualize myself crossing that finish line.
Moderator: That mental game, as you put it, is so crucial in cross-country skiing. It’s a sport that demands so much both physically and mentally.
Flora: You’re absolutely right. It’s a real battle of wills out there.
