Oaxaca Athletes Gear up for Conade 2025 Nationals
Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax. January 8, 2025 – Aspiring athletes across Oaxaca are preparing too showcase their skills as the call for the conade 2025 Nationals has been officially announced. The multi-stage selection process, spanning from January 8th to February 25th, promises to be a thrilling journey for athletes vying for a spot on the national stage.Arturo de jesús Chávez Ramírez, head of the Sports Institute (indeporte), unveiled the details of the competition during a press conference.The state phase, encompassing 35 diverse sports disciplines, will take place from February 13th to 25th. Following this, the regional stage for Zone “V” will commence, bringing together athletes from Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, and Puebla. The specific venues and dates for the regional stage are yet to be finalized.
The initial stages will see athletes competing in disciplines like breaking, sport climbing, canoeing, and surfing at the state level. As the competition progresses, the macro-regional phase will feature a wider array of sports, including athletics, chess, basketball, baseball, boxing, handball, judo, karate, weightlifting, softball, tennis, triathlon, table tennis, volleyball, and beach volleyball.
The national qualifying event will determine the athletes who will represent Mexico in open water swimming, badminton, swimming, rugby sevens, cycling, skateboarding, and squash. Charrería and archery, simultaneously occurring, will utilize national rankings to select their representatives.

AV: I’m thrilled to see the inclusion of less conventional sports like breaking and sport climbing. It showcases the evolving face of athletics and provides opportunities for athletes who might not have had these platforms before.

The broadening of disciplines is definitely a step forward. for the state phase, 35 sports will be contested, and the athletes selected will then progress through regional and macro-regional stages. It’s a grueling process. what advice would you give to these young athletes as they begin this challenging journey?
AV: It’s imperative they remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency in training, a strong mental game, and the ability to handle pressure are crucial. They needs to trust the process and have faith in their abilities.
Moderator: Great advice, Coach.Speaking of pressure,the national qualifying event will determine who represents Mexico in various sports at the international level. Quite a lot is on the line. Which sports do you think will be particularly competitive this year?
AV: I think sports like swimming,badminton,and cycling will be incredibly competitive.We have many talented individuals vying for those coveted spots.
