Aveyron Karate Championship 2025: A Triumph for CSKS Millau at Raymond Saqué Dojo
On Sunday, January 12, 2025, the Raymond Saqué dojo in Rodez became the epicenter of karate excellence as it hosted the Aveyron Kata Championship and the Aveyron Combat Departmental Council challenge. The event was a resounding success, with CSKS Millau, the Millavois karate club, emerging as a standout performer.
The morning session saw remarkable performances from Raphaël balland Leduc and Thomas Guyotte, both black belts, who secured first and second places in kata, respectively. Scenzo Beaud, a blue belt, claimed third place in the same category.In the combat segment, the competition was fierce, with Thomas and Raphaël tying for third place, while Scenzo clinched second in his division.
Their contributions didn’t end there. In the afternoon, the trio took on the role of referees, overseeing the performances of four younger club members: Sandro Souza (blue belt), Ayoub Elkach (green belt), Adel Saumon-Tadrist, and Meï Jalade (both orange belts). Sandro delivered an outstanding performance, securing gold in both kata and combat in the junior category. Ayoub and Adel excelled in kata, taking first and second places, while also earning second and third in combat. Meï showcased her skills with a second-place finish in combat and third in kata.
The day was a testament to the club’s dedication, with CSKS Millau proudly taking home thirteen medals. The younger participants impressed with their energy and determination, while the seasoned competitors displayed technical prowess and thrilling performances, earning the pride of their Sensei, Cyril Mendre.

For those interested in joining CSKS Millau, training sessions are held at the Dojo du Complexe Sportif Paul Tort, 115 Rue du Rec in Millau. Children up to 11 years old can attend on Wednesdays from 1 p.m.to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Teenagers, adults, and blue belt holders can join on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
