Kicking off on the 17th in Hongcheon-gun,Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province,the event featured five age divisions: U11,U12,U13,U15,and U18. Young athletes from Korea, the United States, Thailand, and Mongolia⁢ came together for ‍a thrilling three-day basketball extravaganza, concluding on the ⁣19th.

Organized by Hongcheon-gun, ⁣the Hongcheon-gun Council, the Hongcheon-gun Sports Council, the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Basketball Association, and KXO (Korea 3×3 Basketball Federation), the tournament was further bolstered by the East Asia Local Goverment Tourism federation (EATOF).

returning to Hongcheon-gun, the birthplace of the inaugural 2024 Super ⁢Cup, the ⁢event⁢ received overwhelming support from the local government. After the success of the first edition, ⁣Hongcheon-gun⁣ spared⁣ no effort in providing⁤ both ⁣financial and moral backing for this year’s tournament. ⁤The state-of-the-art facilities ‍were especially praised by ‍international participants, enhancing thier overall experience.

Despite the chilly‍ Gangwon-do weather, the young basketball enthusiasts remained undeterred. To ensure every team had ample playing ⁢time, the ⁣organizing committee introduced ‍a unique format were all ⁢teams advanced to the final tournament after the preliminary rounds, eliminating the risk of early elimination.

This approach allowed each team to compete in‍ at least three matches. On the final day, the gymnasium was opened to the⁢ public ‍free of charge, hosting ‍kind exchange matches between the participating teams.

A spokesperson ‍for the Super Cup ⁢shared, “our goal was to maximize the benefits for the young athletes. Many participants expressed their desire to play additional games, and the coaches echoed this sentiment. In response, we organized extra exchange matches on the 19th, ensuring everyone left with unforgettable memories.”

Teams⁢ such as Jeju Link, Gimpo SK, ⁢Uijeongbu SK, Thailand YBL, and Busan The Grit came together for a friendly exhibition match,” he stated.

Beyond the competitive games, the ⁤Super Cup included a spectacular opening ceremony and a welcoming banquet filled with tasty food and diverse entertainment. This setup allowed international players to experience the renowned Hongcheon River Frozen Festival, a celebrated local event.

Shin Eun-seop, Chairman of the Hongcheon-gun ⁢Sports Council, remarked, “Hosting the Super Cup once more ⁤in Hongcheon-gun was an immensely fulfilling experience. Watching young athletes from various nations compete passionately and enjoy their time here made⁣ all the readiness efforts worthwhile.” He added, “We aimed to prepare thoroughly,⁣ but ⁣there may have been areas for betterment. If we organize another ‍Super cup in the future,we will strive to enhance it⁢ further,ensuring Hongcheon County gains global recognition.”⁢
