The prestigious titles were awarded to badminton player Annika Späth, cyclist Georg Steinhauser, and the soccer team from SV deuchelried. Additionally, trampolinist Fee Lechelt was named Rising Star of the Year, while cyclist Karl Herzog earned the title of newcomer of the Year.
The event was expertly hosted by Mayor Michael Lang, alongside sports association members Silvio Krezdorn, Margit Gaus, and Markus Holzmann. The marimba ensemble from the Württembergisches Allgäu Youth Music School, led by Tim Raule, provided a captivating musical backdrop. Simultaneously occurring, the SV Haslach line dance group delivered an energetic performance, adding to the evening’s entertainment.
Annika Späth,a long-standing badminton player for SV Primisweiler,has consistently demonstrated excellence in her sport. Competing in the U19 category,she secured third place in the Southeast German Championship and fifth place in the German rankings,both times in doubles with her partner Nadja Reihle from Mössingen. Currently pursuing her studies in Vienna, Späth now represents WBH Vienna. In a remarkable feat, cyclist Georg Steinhauser clinched victory on May 22, 2024, after a grueling 159-kilometer stage that included a solo ride of over 30 kilometers. His triumph on the Passo Brocon marked his first professional win, breaking the dominance of superstar Tadej Pogacar. Steinhauser also secured third place in two stages and earned a spot in the mountains classification.
The SV Deuchelried football team achieved a double victory, earning promotion to the state league by topping the regional league and securing the district cup.Fee Lechelt, recognized as the Rising Star of the Year, excelled in trampoline jumping.Alongside her partner Jamie Kastner, she claimed first place at the Baden-Württemberg Synchronized Championships and triumphed at the International Youth Cup.Karl Herzog, the Newcomer of the Year, made waves in cycling by winning the U17 category at both the German Road Race Championships and the Baden-Württemberg championship, representing Radunion.
