Youth Archery Thrives in Vineuil: A Day of Competition and community

Vineuil Sports Archery kicked off its adult competition season wiht a vibrant youth event at the Belleries gymnasium on Saturday afternoon,drawing clubs from across the department.The gathering wasn’t just about competition—it was a celebration of skill,camaraderie,and the growing popularity of archery among young enthusiasts.

A Challenge to Reward Young Talent

“These meetings allow young archers to compete against other clubs, but the focus isn’t solely on winning,” explained Jérôme Chartrin, president of Vineuil Sports Archery. “Our departmental challenge rewards young archers at the end of the season, with attendance being a key factor.”

Participants, grouped by age and skill level, shot from distances ranging between 10 and 15 meters, aiming at targets measuring from 122 to 40 centimeters. Each archer fired seven ends of three arrows twice, with a maximum possible score of 420 points.

A Discipline on the Rise

The event culminated in awards for the top three archers and the best arrow in each category. florine Navereau (Level 2) from Chouzy-sur-Cisse led the pack with an remarkable 388 points, followed by Marysa Bonaventure (Level 3) from ADA with 372 and Lucas Lhomme (Level 3) from Oucques with 366.

Archery’s popularity in Vineuil is soaring. “We’ve never had so many members,” Chartrin proudly noted. The club now boasts 120 members, including 46 young archers—a testament to the sport’s growing appeal.
