Gary: It’s arduous to say. The MLS is a unique beast, with its own set of intricacies.Perhaps there weren’t the same expectations there, and maybe that affected his approach.

And now, his latest stint at Plymouth Argyle ends in relegation battle. Is it a case of Rooney biting off more than he can chew?
Gary:
Plymouth is a tough gig. The Championship is notoriously competitive, and Rooney walked into a side struggling for form.

Gary:
