Improved Parking for Ajax Fans in Heerenveen
Ajax supporters traveling to the away match against SC Heerenveen on January 19th can expect a more favorable parking situation compared to last year. Following discussions between the Ajax supporters’ Association, the municipality, and SC Heerenveen, 350 parking spaces will be allocated to Ajax fans. This represents a notable increase from the meager 180 spaces provided in the previous season, when over 1,250 Ajax supporters attended the match.
Of the 350 spaces, 200 will be located at the stadium itself, while the remaining 150 will be situated at the Thialf Ice Stadium. Shuttle buses will transport fans from Thialf to the SC Heerenveen stadium.
While the Ajax Supporters’ Association welcomes this betterment, they still advocate for a more ideal solution where all 150 shuttle-dependent parking spaces would be located at the stadium.

Godts to PSV? Parking Woes, and a Pleasant Without Fans: An Ajax insider Chat with Former Star Theo Janssen
Welcome back, Ajax faithful! This week, we have a special guest joining us for a deep dive into all things Ajax. Former midfield maestro and current TV pundit, Theo Janssen, is here to give us his thoughts on the latest happenings at the club. Theo, thanks for joining us!
Theo: Always happy to chat Ajax, my friend!
Moderator: Let’s start with this PSV admiration for Mika Godts. Marcel Brands singled him out as a standout performer. What are your thoughts on Godts this season, and do you think he’d be a good fit at PSV?
Theo: Godts has been a pleasant surprise this season. He’s stepped up in Haller’s absence and proven he can be a deadly finisher. As for PSV, thay’ve been missing a clinical striker, so I can see why Brands is interested. But, Godts is flourishing at Ajax, and I wouldn’t want to see him leave anytime soon.
Moderator: Agree there, Theo. Now, let’s talk about Jordan Henderson. He seems to be having a tough time with the Dutch language. Funniest moment in the weghorst video for you?
Theo: (laughs) Well, Henderson trying to pronounce “appeltaart” was hilarious! It’s a tough language to master, but give him credit for trying. A good team spirit is important, and it looks like the boys are having some fun with him.
Moderator: Absolutely. Speaking of team spirit, the parking situation for the Heerenveen trip has finally seen enhancement for Ajax fans. 350 spaces, up from a measly 180 last year. Is this a step in the right direction, or does the Ajax Supporters’ Association have a point in wanting all the shuttle parking at the stadium?
Theo: Honestly, it’s a positive step, but I understand the Supporters’ Association’s concerns. Having to shuttle back and forth adds time and hassle, especially in winter conditions. Hopefully, they can work out a solution where all the parking is closer to the stadium in the future.
Moderator: Good point. Now, let’s touch on the upcoming friendly against VfB Stuttgart. It’s disappointing that fans won’t be able to attend due to “safety and infrastructure” concerns. What are your thoughts on that decision?
Theo: It’s frustrating, no doubt. Friendlies are a chance for fans to see thier team up close and personal, especially during the winter break. I hope Ajax can shed more light on these safety concerns and address them properly for future friendlies.
Moderator: Agreed, openness is key. the KNVB Cup date against AZ is set – January 14th. Big clash, Theo. Any early predictions?
Theo: Ah, the Klassieker in the Cup! It’s always a tense affair. Both teams are strong, but Ajax has that extra bit of firepower this season. If they can stay focused and disciplined, I’d give them the edge.
Moderator: Can’t argue with that!
Thank you for your time and insights,Theo! We appreciate your candid thoughts on these important Ajax issues.
Theo: My pleasure! Always good to chat with you!
