Jacobs Revives Career with Packers, Leading NFL in First-Half Rushing

Josh Jacobs has rediscovered his elite form since joining the green Bay Packers, proving that a change of scenery can work wonders.After a disappointing 2023 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, Jacobs is back to his dominant self, reminiscent of his 2022 campaign where he led the league in rushing yards.
Jacobs never lost faith in his abilities, stating, “I believe in myself no matter the circumstances. I always strive to gain an advantage in every matchup. I simply needed to demonstrate my capabilities to a new team.”
Currently,the Packers (10-4) are set to host the New Orleans saints (5-9) on Monday night. Jacobs currently sits third in the NFL with 1,147 rushing yards, trailing only Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praises Jacobs’ tenacity,saying,”He’s a force on the field. He almost always breaks through the initial tackle.”
Jacobs’ 2023 season was a stark contrast to his previous success, as he only managed 805 rushing yards. Joining the Packers through free agency provided him with an chance to play for a team with championship aspirations.
Interestingly, Jacobs’ playoff experience is limited to the end of the 2021 season with the Raiders, then coached by Rich Bisaccia, who now leads the Packers’ special teams.
“Everyone really respected Bisaccia,” Jacobs recalls. “We all wanted to win for him and for each other. I feel the same camaraderie with this team.”
Jacobs’ impressive 688 rushing yards in the first half of the season, the highest in the NFL, have been instrumental in the Packers’ dominance. They have outscored opponents 95-34 in the first quarters,setting the tone for their victories.Quarterback Jordan Love emphasizes the importance of Jacobs’ contributions: “We always stress starting strong.When you can consistently hand the ball off and gain yards, it sets the tone for the game.It forces the defense to adjust and triggers a chain reaction of positive plays.”
