Teh 2025 All-Star Game is set to debut a revamped format: three games featuring three All-Star teams and the Rising Stars Challenge victor. The league is persistent to keep the event fresh and exciting.
The player selection process remains familiar. Twenty-four All-Stars, twelve from each conference, will be chosen. Fan voting accounts for 50% of the “starters” selection, with NBA players and media representatives each contributing 25%. Coaches will then select the seven reserves per conference.
With the games scheduled for February 16th and fan voting already underway, let’s dive into an early look at who might make the cut. Here’s a projection of the 2025 All-Stars, based on current performance.
Eastern Conference – Backcourt
Starter: Jalen Brunson (New York knicks): 25 points, 56.7% eFG, 3 rebounds, 7.7 assists – 26 games
Starter: Donovan mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers): 23.3 points, 54.9% eFG, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.6 steals – 26 games
Jalen Brunson orchestrates the New York Knicks’ offence with finesse. While his scoring is slightly down, his efficiency is at a career-high, bolstered by a 43.2% three-point percentage. Brunson’s playmaking is also top-notch, leading the league’s third-best offense.
Donovan Mitchell anchors the Cleveland Cavaliers,the East’s top team. Mitchell’s willingness to share the ball elevates his team. His defensive tenacity sets him apart from his backcourt rivals.
Reserve: Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks): 25.7 points, 54.8% eFG, 4.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists – 22 games
