Young basketball Stars Converge on Tarragona for Thrilling Tournament
The ‘II Torneig U13 Ciutat de Tarragona’, hosted by the dedicated L’Associació Bàsquet La Salle Tarragona, is set to showcase the future of basketball. This tournament reaffirms the association’s commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the sport.
From December 21st to 29th, the Col·legi la salle Tarragona pavelló and the Palau d’Esports de Tarragona will become battlegrounds for 26 teams, comprising 16 boys’ and 10 girls’ squads in the U13 pre-children’s category. A total of 67 exhilarating games will determine the champions.Adding to the excitement, the tournament boasts an impressive lineup of participants. Renowned clubs like Barça and València Basket will be vying for supremacy in the boys’ division, while the girls’ competition will feature powerhouses like Unicaja Málaga and Joventut Badalona.
The event transcends regional boundaries, attracting teams from across Spain.catalan clubs such as CB Santfeliuenc, Basket Almeda, Manresa CBF, Força lleida, and Sabadell BQ Vallès will be joined by representatives from the Community of Madrid (Uros de Rivas), the Community of Valencia (CA Montemar, SD El Pilar, and Jovens l’Eliana), and the Canary Islands (RC Náutico de Tenerife).
Adding an international flavor, Next Hoops and Time Travel will bring together promising young athletes from around the globe. Local pride will be on display with Tarragona province teams CB Morell and CB Tarragona competing in the boys’ category, and Ploms Salle Reus representing the girls.
