the Santa fe Tennis Federation (FST) has solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in Argentine tennis, with its players dominating the national rankings across multiple age categories. As the 2024 season wrapped up, the argentine Tennis Association (AAT) unveiled its year-end rankings, showcasing a remarkable presence of FST athletes in the top tiers. From budding juniors to seasoned competitors, the federation’s talent pool continues to shine, cementing Santa Fe as a breeding ground for future tennis stars.
Local Tennis Stars Shine in Top 20 Rankings
The FST’s young talents have made their mark in the national rankings, with several players securing top positions in their respective age groups. In the boys’ under-12 category, juan Ignacio Assi claimed the No. 1 spot, while manuel Paniagua and Tomás Herrera followed closely in 2nd and 4th places, respectively.
The under-14 category saw Agustín Di Fulvio secure 8th place, while Tomás Re and Joaquín Sabina ranked 4th and 11th in the under-16 division. In the under-18 rankings, Augusto lucarelli and Bautista Bonino stood out, finishing 5th and 14th, respectively.
Women’s Tennis Takes center Stage
The FST’s female players have also made significant strides, with several rising stars earning top spots in the national rankings.In the under-12 category, Juana Boubila and Sara Schwank secured 9th and 10th places, respectively. The under-14 division featured Zaira Martínez (7th), Lucia Valles (8th), Pilar Da Silva (9th), and Sofía Gabilanes (17th).
The under-16 rankings where dominated by Luana Cáceres,who claimed the No. 1 spot,while Joaquina Zapata and Josefina López followed in 6th and 7th places. in the under-18 category, Sol Belluomini and Dolores Ereñu finished 11th and 15th, respectively.
