Exclusive Stay in Paiporta with the King: A Unique Experience Unmatched by Others

ValenciaThe political climate in Valencia is reaching a boiling point, with calls for Council head Carlos Mazón’s resignation growing louder. Despite Mazón’s attempts to shift focus to the Spanish government’s handling of the recent DANA weather event, his strategy appears to be faltering. The tension during the year’s final executive control session became so intense that it forced a recess, interrupting Mazón’s speech. Llanos massó, president of the Courts and a leader from Vox, declared it “impossible to continue” under such circumstances.

The controversy was ignited by José Antonio Rovira, the minister of Education, culture, universities and Employment, a close ally of Mazón.Rovira accused Spanish government president Pedro Sánchez of abandoning his duties during disturbances on November 3, which occurred during the King’s visit to Paiporta. These remarks echoed Mazón’s earlier allusions to Sánchez, stating,”I stayed in Paiporta with the king, others did not,” referencing the moment when institutional representatives were pelted with mud.

Mazón and Rovira’s accusations against Sánchez are a response to earlier criticisms from Compromís spokesperson Joan Baldoví. Baldoví questioned whether Mazón could remain in office as “a fugitive politician who has not apologized to the families, that he has not met with them and that he has not insulted the towns.” The tension escalated further when Rovira mimicked someone leaving a place, referencing the events of November 3.
