How the System Works
The process is straightforward yet effective. Upon arrival at the sports arena, fans’ IDs—whether digital or physical—are scanned using QR or MRZ codes. Facial verification is then conducted around the stadium. The biographical data extracted from the ID is sent securely to the Registry, where it is cross-referenced with existing databases to confirm the individual’s identity in real time.

this technology is not new to the world of sports security. In Mexico,a similar system called Fan ID was introduced in 2023. Developed by Incode Technologies, it records the identity of fans entering stadiums to enhance security and order. This initiative was a response to violent incidents at the Corregidora stadium in Querétaro, which left nearly 30 people injured in March 2022.
Iñigo Castillo, general manager of Incode technologies for Latin America, highlighted the transformative power of technology in addressing social issues like stadium violence. “With more than 2.9 million records, we are demonstrating that technological solutions are not only effective but can also strengthen the social fabric, promoting safer and more reliable environments for all.”
