Last Sunday, May 12, in Badminton, Gloustershire, Queen Camilla and Marchioness Rose Hanbury joined forces to counter malicious rumors circulating about the royal family. The second, supposedly Prince William’s lover, coincided with the wife of Charles III in the final of the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials, a renowned equestrian tournament. And the meeting, judging by the images that have circulated on social networks, could not have been more cordial. In her capacity as Marchioness of Cholmondeley, the British aristocrat was photographed smiling in conversation with the queen and the internationally renowned British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.
It was Hanbury’s first public appearance since her lawyers were forced to deny accusations that the marchioness had had an adulterous relationship with the Prince of Wales. Some rumors that were fueled at the beginning of the year after the mysterious absence of Kate Middleton. The rumors were then so strong that to cut them off, the princess had no choice but to come forward publicly and reveal that her disappearance from the media was due to the fact that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
Despite this, Rose Hanbury’s “reappearance” at the Badminton Horse Trials did not go unnoticed in British tabloids such as the “Daily Mail” either.
The image of Queen Camilla joking with Rose Hanbury gave rise to comparisons as both made headlines in the English tabloids. The first for having been Prince Charles’ lover during his marriage to Diana of Wales; the second, for her alleged secret romance with the heir to the British throne, after his marriage to Kate in 2011. A rumor that has been in circulation since then and that has never been proven, except for the existence of some photos in which sees the marchioness and the prince sharing a table and tablecloth.
Hated in the UK
But time has played in favor of Camilla, today the wife of Charles III and queen consort of the British. The one who years ago earned the title of “homewrecker” and was one of the most hated people in the United Kingdom, today she has earned her affection. Who knows what the future will hold for Rose Hanbury, currently a victim of her bad image.
Arnaud de la Grange, correspondent for “Le Figaro” in London, even stated on the “Scandales” podcast that “housewives followed Camilla in the supermarket, and that people booed her” wherever they found her. The tabloids were extremely harsh on her, describing her as a temperamental, lazy and poorly dressed woman. Today that “evil” image has disappeared thanks to her involvement in royal duties.
