Even before the official presentation, scheduled for the week, the next French team jersey appeared on social networks this weekend. It was first posted by the Irrésistibles Français, the main group of supporters of the Blues on X. On Sunday, Nike used a French muse with a global audience to continue its communication. Victor Wembanyama posted an Instagram story where the vintage Blues jersey appears on the jacket of his tracksuit.
While Belgium has chosen to give a nod to its cultural heritage and to Tintin, the French team will wear a resolutely vintage outfit this summer during the Euro in Germany. The first jersey is inspired by that worn by the Platini generation in the early 1980s: a lighter blue than that of the 2022 World Cup jersey, a blue-white-red collar and above all a rooster much larger than habit on the heart side.
The away jersey is also a tribute to the French team of 40 years ago, with a white background and blue and red stripes. These new jerseys are expected to be worn for the first time in the friendlies against Germany (March 23) and Chile (March 26).
