Denver Nuggets Take Sole Lead in NBA West, Miami Heat Loses Fourth Consecutive Game: NBA Recap Mar 14, 2024

CHICAGO — The Denver Nuggets they won this Wednesday Miami Heat and they took over the sole lead in the NBA West, in a day also marked by the hits on the Sacramento Kings tablewho beat Los Angeles Lakerslos Cleveland Cavalierswho triumphed in New Orleans, and the Chicago Bulls, that they did in Indiana in overtime.

In the reissue of last year’s Finals, the Nuggets accelerated in the fourth quarter and took the victory at the pace of Michael Porter (25 points) on a less than brilliant night by the Serbian Nikola Jokic, who also achieved a double-double of twelve points and fourteen rebounds.

The Heat lost their fourth consecutive game, despite a double double of 17 points and thirteen rebounds from Bam Adebayo, on a night in which Jimmy Butler did not exceed fifteen points.

For the second time in a week, the Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, this time 120-107 at home with a triple double of 17 points, 19 rebounds and ten assists from Domantas Sabonis.

The Kings closed the series of regular season matches with four wins out of four against the Lakers and are seventh in the West (38-27), while the Angelenos are ninth (36-21).

The Lakers fell despite Austin Reaves’ 28 points. LeBron James contributed 18 points, thirteen rebounds and nine assists, while Anthony Davis had 22 points and ten rebounds.

The Cavaliers ended the Pelicans’ four-game winning streak and triumphed in New Orleans with a great Darius Garland (27 points and eleven assists) to reach the Milwaukee Bucks in second place in the East.

The Pelicans gave up despite 33 points from Zion Williamson and 20 from Brandon Ingram. Those from New Orleans are fifth in the West and are still in direct access positions for the playoffs.

The Bulls confirmed themselves as the best team in the NBA this season in the tight finishes and this Wednesday they won at the Indiana Pacers’ field after an overtime, with an extraordinary DeMa DeRozan (46 points and nine rebounds).

Alex Caruso provided a solid contribution with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Ayo Dosunmu contributed 20 points.

Miles Bridges led the Hornets’ victory against the Grizzlies with 27 points, in which Santi Aldama was out due to an elbow problem.

For Memphis, the top scorer was Gregory Jackson, with 27 points.

The Pistons added their third victory in the last four games and prolonged the crisis of the Raptors who have lost five consecutive games.

Jalen Duren was the protagonist of the Pistons’ victory with a double double of 24 points and 23 rebounds.

The Magic took another step toward their return to the playoffs by beating the Nets fueled by 21 points and nine assists from Paolo Banchero.

The Nets, who suffered three losses in the last four games, are out of the play-in positions.

The Blazers defeated the Hawks led by 36 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and five triples from Anfernee Simons, and 33 points and 19 rebounds from center Deandre Ayton.

For the Hawks, Dejounte Murray was the leading scorer with 40 points.
