“Unfortunately I’m suffering from food poisoning today and, despite all my efforts, I can’t go on the pitch,” said Dominic Thiem, explaining his withdrawal from the tournament.
Norwegian talent Nicolai Budkov Kjaer continued to play for the Austrian. The 17-year-old lost his match against Casper Ruud 0:3 (9:16, 13:14, 13:14).
“I haven’t felt well in the last few days and I won’t be able to perform satisfactorily this evening,” said Holger Rune, explaining his departure.
The upcoming match against Alexander Bublik was canceled without replacement.

It is therefore clear that Ruud and Bublik will make it to the semi-finals in Group A.
Rublev dominates Group B
In Group B, Andrey Rublev achieved his third win with a 3-1 (18:14, 15:18, 20:9, 17:11) against Lucas Pouille, meaning the Russian won the group comfortably.
Behind him was Alex de Minaur, who prevailed 3:2 (15:19, 15:16, 19:11, 14:13, 2:0) against Benoît Paire.
Ruud in the semi-final against de Minaur
The competition, which is played using modified tennis rules, initially consists of a group phase. The top two from Group A (Holger Rune, Aleksander Bublik, Casper Ruud, Dominic Thiem) and Group B (Andrey Rublev, Alex de Minaur, Lucas Pouille, Benoît Paire) reach the semi-finals.
