Iga Swiatek comes to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2024 as a two-time defending champion

For tournament director Markus Günthardt it was a belated Christmas present when the four top players confirmed their participation in the 47th edition of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. “To have the commitment of four absolute world stars is fantastic,” says the Swiss happily together with his sporting director Anke Huber. “This is a great compliment and a real vote of confidence in our tournament.”

Every Swiatek

The quartet, which wants to take part in the award-winning WTA 500 event in Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena, has nine Grand Slam victories between them. Most of them go to “Porsche Friend” Iga Swiatek. The 22-year-old Pole celebrated successes at the French Open (2020, 2022, 2023) and the US Open (2022). She was the most successful player last year. After victories in Doha, Stuttgart, Paris, Warsaw and Beijing, the world number one crowned her record season with the title at the WTA Finals. Her start to the new season was also perfect: at the United Cup, the prestigious team competition in the run-up to the Australian Open, she won all five of her individual matches. On her wave of success, the winner of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2022 and 2023 is looking for new challenges. Winning a third title in a row when they return to Stuttgart is such a challenge.

Angelique Kerber

Angelique Kerber won the Australian Open (2016), the US Open (2016) and Wimbledon (2018). The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, which she won in 2015 and 2016, is the 35-year-old from Kiel’s first tournament in Germany since the birth of her daughter Liana. “I missed the tournament and the great audience in the Porsche Arena,” says the Porsche brand ambassador. “I’m all the more pleased to be there again this time.” Her comeback after the maternity break was crowned with success: she won the United Cup with Germany in Sydney.

Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu (21) became a world star with her victory at the US Open 2021. After a long injury break that included three operations, the Porsche brand ambassador made a successful comeback last week by winning a match at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. She is particularly looking forward to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix – in addition to her home tournament in Wimbledon – “after all, there is a Porsche to be won there, the most attractive winner’s trophy on the tour.”

Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka (25) was also impressed with the main prize for the winner. The world number two and current Australian Open winner has been in the final in Stuttgart for the past three years. When she left last year, she left no doubt that she would come back and make a fourth attempt at the prestigious victory: “I definitely want to win this car.”

Colorful supporting program

In addition to absolute world-class tennis, one of the WTA’s most prestigious indoor tournaments for years has also presented an extraordinary live atmosphere in the Stuttgart indoor duo Porsche Arena and Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. A colorful supporting program for all age groups makes the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix an event for the whole family.
